Anomali Joins Belfast’s Budding Cyber Security Startup Scene with New Facility

LONDON, UK. – May 18, 2017– Supported by Invest Northern Ireland, Anomali will generate £4.1million in additional salaries for the Northern Ireland economy over three years.

Anomali, the provider of market-leading threat intelligence platforms, today announced its new facility in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The firm will join the city’s vibrant cyber security cluster with the support of economic development agency Invest Northern Ireland.

The new European Research and Development Labs in Belfast will create 120 new jobs over the next three years, which will generate £4.1million in additional salaries for the Northern Ireland economy. Roles will cover a range of disciplines, including engineering, research and sales.

The site will drive innovation and support our global ambitions, delivering services for our increasing customer base in Europe and the US. Once all of the roles are filled we will have more employees in the UK than any of our competitors do across Europe to propel the business forward,” commented Hugh Njemanze, CEO of Anomali.

Belfast has an outstanding local talent pool. Queen’s University Belfast is home to the Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT), the UK’s Innovation & Knowledge Centre for secure information technologies. It has a GCHQ accredited Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research and an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research accredited by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

Invest NI has offered support of £780,000 towards the new jobs, which are expected to be in place by the end of 2019, with an average salary of £34,445. 23 of the positions have already been filled.

Anomali recently took part in the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) AppSecEU 2017 event which was hosted by Belfast in May. This event is one of the cyber security industry's largest international conferences.
